Psalm 147:1-6
Praise the Lord!
For it is good to sing praises to our God;
for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting.
The Lord builds up Jerusalem;
he gathers the outcasts of Israel.
He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds.
He determines the number of the stars;
he gives to all of them their names.
Great is our Lord, and abundant in power;
his understanding is beyond measure.
The Lord lifts up the humble; he casts the wicked to the ground.
As the psalmist exhorts us, let us join together today in praising the Lord! Pray to God, expressing to Him reasons why praise to Him is fitting. List several. Then pick one of the Lord's attributes and ponder how God has shown that attribute to you. COnsider how Jesus embodied that attribute while He was on the earth, and continue to worship Him for that attribute as well. Ask God to help us as a church body to experience that attribute to a greater degree.
